Tough and Adaptable Heated Filters

At Atmo-Seal, Inc. we know how dangerous life can be for equipment in the field. We kept that in mind when designing our heated filters.

Our heated filters have exteriors are constructed with aluminum and high-temperature phenolic exterior. All wetted parts are stainless steel (or Teflon for FPB Series Filters) and seals are silicone, Viton ™ or Teflon ™.

Another unique advantage of our heated filter design is the easy removal and replacement of the stainless steel filter housing and the port fittings. The entire filter assembly may be removed from the heater in seconds by simply removing two screws and fittings. This allows for quick and easy repair in the field and instant re-configuration of the port fitting types and sizes.

A spare slip-on heater may be purchased and kept at your facility. If your filter heater becomes damaged, the heater sleeve may be removed and installed in minutes. This unique feature eliminates downtime and keeps your testing on schedule.

Our heated filters carry a full 24 month limited warranty, too!

Selecting the correct Heated Filterheated filters

Each of ASE’s family of filters will provide exceptional filtration for your application. Please review the criteria below in selecting the filter for your needs  then contact one of our sales or engineering staff to further refine your selection.

FPD Filters (Tee handle filters)–  The most common filter used for Diesel/Gasoline Combustion and CEMs/Stack Monitoring/Laboratory applications. Used in at-the-source and downstream filtration. Ideal for permanent mount situations. Tee handle design makes changing the elements a snap.

FPI Filters (In Line Filters) –  Used for Diesel/Gasoline Combustion and CEMs/Stack Monitoring/Laboratory applications, ideal for at-the source filtration requirements.  The in-line design produces a minimal pressure drop and allows for easy attachment to the end of a sample line. In-line filters are also recommended in areas where coarse filtration is needed on the upstream at the end of a sample line.

FPB Filters (Bowl Filters) –  Used for Diesel/Gasoline Combustion and CEMs/Stack Monitoring/Laboratory applications. Available in SS and all-Teflon designs. Filters may be operated to 1000 PSIG. Mounts easily for permanent installations.

Size Matters

The rules of filter selection are simple: The greater the size, the longer the filter life and the slower the response time (due to increased filter volume). 1 x 7″ filters are used most commonly for dirty diesel and stack applications.  1 X 2-1/2″ filters are used in cleaner diesel/gasoline/stack applications where there is a benefit in increased response time. 1/2″ x 2-1/4″ and 1/2″ x 1″ filters are used in cleaner areas, lab applications, and anywhere response time and small size are critical.

In some cases, ASE will recommend dual-filtration. Placing a coarse filter upstream to trap the larger particles, then incorporating fine filtration just before the analyzer, may be the best of both worlds. Using a dual filter system greatly increases fine filter life, protects downstream components, and keeps the “big junk” trapped before it can cause havoc in your sample train.

Options

As always, Atmo-Seal, Inc., will customize your heated filter to your exacting specifications WITHOUT jeopardizing your delivery schedule.
